Finally, I’d gained achievement in working on myself. I’m like 8-10kg lighter than two months ago. And I’ve device a plan which aim towards a more balanced success, in terms of body, mind, heart and soul.
The point is to change my habits, to gear towards effective living.
To do that, the plan comes in a form of a four-week timetable. It acts as a test of my time-management skill, which I kind of sucks in, as of now.
A glimpse of new habits that I’ll bring into my life:
- Jogging in the early morning.
- Meditate and Reflection an hour before sleep.
- Sleep early, no later than 12am.
- Engage in physical activities daily (well everything here is to be done daily).
- One movie per week.
- Record and file up my daily expenditure and cash flow.
- Punctual for all commitments.
- Express gratitude at the start of the day.
- Give thanks to others whenever possible.
- Show kindness to others whenever possible.
- Don’t give up easily.
- Speak impeccably.
- Do not assume.
- Don’t take things personally.
- Always do my best.
Well, in life we deal with things that lies in a combination of two factors: Urgency and Importance. Examples of these combinations are:
Combo 1- Urgent and Important: Unemployment, school projects, loved ones in hospital, pressing problems.
Combo 2- Urgent but Not Important: Friends calling you out, social events, watching movies and times when you think the chances of it coming again is low, therefore its urgent to attend.
Combo 3- Not Urgent and Not Important: Slacking around, chilling out with friends
Combo 4- Not Urgent but Important: Improving oneself, relationship building, finding opportunities
It’s important to note that not all urgent matters are deemed important, and vice-versa. And it requires a proactive mind to work on important matters which are often viewed as non-urgent. And all the while, I’ve engage in all the combo except combo 4.
I admit spending so much time on hanging out with friends and doing stuffs which aren’t very productive. And I’m tired of it. I want to explore combo 4, which I rarely touch on, other than times when I attempt the makeovers, which eventually went overtaken by the other combos.
So my aim now is to tap into Combo 4; matters that aren’t urgent but important. And that requires initiative. Look, who have the desire to change yourself, more than yourself? Therefore, who’ll be there to effectively push you to improve, more than you do. We’re all responsible for ourselves. And we’re responsible for the change that we desire.
A few days ago, on wednesday, I felt happy for USA. One reason is because I woke up that morning to hear that change has come to America. And the more important reason why I’m happy is that I know change has come to me as well. And I’m as happy as those americans who cheer patriotically to embrace the history-in-the-making moment.
I’d been in dormant for long, and its time to be proactive. To get the ball rolling.
I’m taking a turn in strategy for my physical fitness! Now, I’m going to start iron-pumping, 3 times a week! And blade as well, 4 times a week!
I’m changing my diet too. I’m improving my salad recipe and including new ingredients into it. And I’ve change my guidelines on outside food. During phrase I, I was sort of a vegetarian, eating only sashimi and all veggies/fruits. This time, I allow anything that is steam. Therefore I’m eating chicken, pork, seafood, as long as its steam and has an insignificant amount of cooked oil.
I’ve make a promise to myself to attend all lectures, tutorials and labs!
I’ve create a vision board! For those who’d watched “The Secret”, you’ll know what I mean. If not, google it out to find out. Or you can click on the link on the right – Mr. S.W. to find out more on the Law of Attraction.
At the end of 30 days, I’ll sit down and evaluate whether what I’ve done is effective and what can be improve. In 30 days time, I’ll still myself, but with brand new habits.
It’s been said that once a habit is done daily for 90 days, one will have that habit for the rest of his life. Well, I have to be realistic with myself and I’ll plan for 30 days first. I’ll never know what will happen in a few months time. Month by month planning is a preferred choice.
As such for Phrase II, I won’t be coming online that often. In fact I’ll come online only to check my email and to do research on school stuffs. I won’t be blogging as much like before. As for msn, I’ll temporarily shut it down until further notice.
I’m all pumped up and geared towards greatness!
And I shall sum this post up with the following quote:
“The deepest secret is that Life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation. You are not discovering yourself, but creating yourself anew at every moment. Seek therefore, not to find out who you are, instead seek to determine who you want to be.” – Neale Donald Walsch
