Back to Toastmasters

Yesterday Syed and I went for our Toastmaster District Council Meeting. Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand are in District 80. So this meetings are rotated around these countries, thankfully this time round its held locally, at YWCA somemore, how convenient. We get to see top executives of our district. The whole venue is filled with governors and presidents/vice-presidents of the various areas and clubs. It was really an eye-opening experience!

For sometime now, since the previous vacation, I admitted that I’d been rather less committed in Toastmasters, although I’d done my duties but not more than that. for the past few months I’d other committments and not much time to plan for Toastmasters. 

Now, I declare that I make a COMEBACK! I’m back to be an active Vice-president (Education)! Fret not Syed, fret not all members, I’m back! Back to Toastmasters!

Syed was a contestant! But I was late and missed his speech… Well it’s the first time we co-organise an area contest and it was quite a success! Thanks to Syed!

The Best Chapter Meeting I’ve Planned… Yet

This chapter meeting was around two months ago, when I invited two special guest, Mr Thomas Tan CC, Area S4 Governor as well as Mr Takalah Tan CC.

And I invited him to my club to give an inspiring speech.

And I made my speech too on that day! I spoke about my experience on my first ever public speaking contest which I took part last year!

Wow, so that’s how I look like when I gave a speech?!?! How serious…

If only I had got my haircut then!

Ten years, twenty years or thirty years down the road, maybe I can even end up being a motivational speaker!
