End of Week 1

7 09 2008

Have you ever felt elated to the point when it feels like wanting to cry out? Well every now and then I got that feeling. It’s one of the ‘Higher Feeling’ that we have.

Slept at 4.30am last night and woke up 8.30am in the morning and chiong-ed to ECP Mac. As usual, produce hotcakes for breakfast and fries for lunch. Planned to eat porridge for breakfast, but overslept and that leaves me no choice but to skip it and had an apple instead while cycling to work.

All the way till 3pm! Didn’t expect myself to control real well! As planned, I headed to Planet Fitness. I weighed myself for the first time since dunno when. And actually I was thinking very negatively since last night. And I want to put a stop to this self-destructing act, so I listen to my audio book, The Four Agreements, while on the treadmill. I reflected upon it, and in no time I felt elated! I was smiling at myself all the way in the gym! When I was reminded on the Second Agreement, “Don’t Take Anything Personally”, the law of reflection comes into play and *snaps* the valve of Higher Feelings just opened up. I felt an urge to be grateful for all the opportunities that I had. So I thanked a few people who gave me different opportunities. Those who thought me well, and those whom are my test! (those who hurt and give me those negative feelings la!)

Burnt 500 cal on the treadmill, by running 5km. Did some weights, and then I weighed myself after the workout… I couldn’t believe what I saw. The difference was 1kg! I was even more elated!!! For the whole day before working out I ate 2 green apples, 1 Mac round egg, 1 medium milo, 1 medium green tea! 1.5hrs in the gym! And 1kg gone? Hmmm, For the following days, I’m gonna experiment on it, and hopefully I can find a more effective way to lose weight and gain fitness.

While working out, I was inspired to buy a book. Went to Borders and got hold of “The Mastery of Love”, by Don Miguel Ruiz, author of The Four Agreements.

Got a sudden call from Gregory while searching for the book, and met up with him and Junie soon after. Shopped here and there and to fill up my stomach. I had beancurd with gula melacca syrup, and soya bean drink! I was curious what’s gula melacca that’s why I tried it and it turns out to be brown sugar. Didn’t really like it.

Junie left and Gregory began to share his story about his new infatuation, while we made our way to Don’s house to collect back my rackets which I lent him, from his brother.

Met my dad for dinner. Two bowls of porridge, with steam egg, bean sprout and cabbage.

Wow, I’d been faithful to my guidelines! Vegetarian all the way, EXCEPT on fri when I went with Mr. HHH to Sushi Tei for lunch. I was tempted to try the crabstick in the avocado salad! Well, it’s nice but not worth breaking my discipline for it. I knew it before I ate it but… Well, I gonna be stricter from now onwards on myself. Didn’t manage to go Nihon Mura this week, perhaps next week then.

Zachary, good job for Week 1!
